Another story is that of a girl who has been trying to control her own destiny with an unyielding and positive attitude, backed by SF support. When her whole family moved to Dalat city, they were struggling to make both ends meet. Her parents took in any jobs that were offered to them to sustain the five of them. Life was so tough that she once had the idea of leaving school and started work to contribute to the humble family budget. Right then, she was granted with Sunshine scholarship and overwhelmed with joy when she heard that she could be given SF scholarship again and again providing she maintained her excellent academic achievements. “Every year, with the schoolyear start, I am eagerly expecting my name listed on SF recipient award board. For many that scholarship is just a meaninglessly small amount, but for me it goes beyond its monetary worth, it is an incentive that motivates me to strive further, cheers me up when I am feeling down, arouses my self-determination and nurtures in me the hope of a better life”. The lesson she gives for the underpriviledged students is not to give up in spite of the hardships lying ahead, not to let the doomed fate control you but to live responsibly and confidently your own life and break up the cycle of poverty. She has now graduated from university and got a job. She promised she would join hands with SF to help needy students.
